Envisioning is critical for leaders and creatives. But when you are surrounded by a very noisy world and there is so much going on, it becomes harder to focus and pull those visions through the eye of that creative needle. TRUTH be told, things aren't what they used to be. Principles that have worked flawlessly for decades must eventually undergo robust adaptation to a rapidly changing world.
It's becoming increasingly clear that to find inspiration, make important decisions, or find answers to pressing questions in a world that shouts, you need to break away from the noise for a while and connect to that quiet space within. Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery – new sights, sounds, food, and culture can help to silence the chattering mind and shed the mental baggage associated with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The effect is always priceless, even if it's just a few days of experience.
The world is getting louder and fear and anxiety are increasing. In a world that screams, it's important to find time to reconnect with that quiet space within. The place from which all answers flow. It reminds me of a passage in the bible that says, "Be still and know.." I guess what the passage is trying to say is that we should be still from time to time so we can hear our INTUITION speak to us. Be still and inspiration will flow!
So my invitation today is for you to take a break, no matter how short, to get offline if you can, spend time with yourself, and find little ways to break away from the noise of the world. It works wonders for the body, mind and SOUL.
It is not always necessary to leave the familiar environment to activate inner stillness. Going to the end of the world may not be the right thing for many. I think that depends on the person. Personally, I sometimes need a change of scenery and I just love the sea. I find it inspiring and magical. That's where my muses live.
What about you? Where do you find inspiration and where are you heading off to next?
